| YouthPass |
|
Every person who has taken part in a Youth in Action project under
Action 1.1 (Youth Exchanges), Action 2 (EVS), and Action 4.3 (Training Courses) is entitled to
receive a Youthpass certificate, which describes and validates the
non-formal and informal learning experience acquired during the
project. Therefore, you as an EVS volunteer is also entitled to one! But what is this Youthpass? Let's put it in a simple way...Youthpass is related to education and learning, but not the formal one we all know (for example school and university). It is all about learning in a non formal way, thus, non formal learning! If you want to know more concerning non formal education ad non formal learning we suggest to you visit KidsInAction. You as an EVS volunteer you are going through a learning process. During you EVS there will be learning points, you will develop some skills...some more, others less...and you know what? Wouldn't it be such a pity if all that does not get recognised by noone. For this reason, Youthpass is here to help you realise and evaluate your learning but also to support you with a proof of your EVS and the learning you have gone through. All Youthpass certificates have a common structure, a coherent layout, and contain the following information:
Through the Youthpass, the European Commission ensures that participation in the Programme is recognised as an educational experience and a period of non-formal learning and informal learning. This document can be of great benefit for the future educational or professional pathway of the participant. Each beneficiary of a Youth in Action grant under the Actions concerned is responsible for:
Beneficiaries can issue Youthpass certificates by accessing YouthPass.eu which is an integral part of the Commission's website on the recognition of non-formal learning in the youth field (www.youthandrecognition.eu).
Take into consideration that Youthpass for EVS is issued through the collaboration of the volunteer, the host organisation and the beneficiary organisation (if not the bneficiary is also the host). The Youthpass should be issued ideally just before the end of the project but it is highly recommended to take it into account through all phases of your project cycle (preparation, implementation, evaluation).
